CBSE exam results 2023 – 24

The CBSE exam results 2023 – 24 for classes 10 and 12 were announced on 12 th May 2023. Around 21,65805 students sat for the final exam of class 10 in the academic 2023 – 24. Among these 93.12% of students have passed. This percentage is less by 1.28% than the previous year. This year’s pass percentage is however higher than the pass percentage, of 91.10% of the pre-Covid batch in 2019. A total of 38,64,373 students registered for this year’s CBSE examination among which 21,65,805 were for class 10 whereas a total of 16,60,511 students appeared for the exams of class 12. Around 87.33% of the class 12 examinees passed. In comparison to the previous year, the pass percentage decreased by 5.385%. It can be further seen that the students from Prayagraj performed quite poorly with a 78.05% pass percentage, whereas the class 12 students of Trivandrum performed quite well with a pass percentage of 99.91%.

Over 26 states throughout the country and 28,471 schools participated in the 10 standard examinations conducted by CBSE with a total of 7,241 exam centres and 24,480 schools. On the other hand, 11,137 participated in the 12 th standard exam conducted by CBSE. In alignment with the National education policy of 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education has altered the Compartment Examination Nomenclature to the Supplementary Exam nomenclature. This means that the students of class 12 will be given the chance to improve their marks in any one subject during the supplementary exams that will be conducted in July of 2023.

After the CBSE exam results 2023 – 24 were released, Narendra Modi (the prime minister of India) praised the students through the Tweet, “Congratulations to all my young friends who have successfully passed the CBSE class 10 th and class 12 th exams. Your hard work and perseverance have paid off. Best wishes for your future endeavors.” Similar to the tweet by Narendra Modi, our Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also praised the students who have passed and secured good ranks. He also asked the students whose marks didn’t meet expectations to not lose motivation.

The Central Board of Secondary Education updated that the supplementary exams for class 12 will be held in July of 2023. Students of class XII who want to improve their marks or are present in the supplementary category can sit for the exams. The dates of the exam will be soon announced by CBSE. Here it should be mentioned that CBSE recognized the highest performing students of 10 th and 12 th standard with a new recognition scheme. In each subject, the top 1% of students were given a certificate of merit by the board whereas the top 0.1% of students were provided with a merit certificate along with Rs 5000 every month for 2 years.
